Menurut Firman, ikan sepat berlafaz Allah itu pertama kali ditemukan saat dirinya tengah menyortir ikan yang dibelinya dari tempat pembesaran. Saat itu, Firman mendapati seekor ikan sepat yang memiliki guratan unik di tubuhnya.
Setelah diamati lebih jelas, ternyata guratan itu merupakan tulisan berlafaz Allah yang terletak pada badan sebelah kiri. Guratan alami berwarna hitam membentuk huruf alif terpisah dengan rangkaian pada lafaz Allah lainnya.
"Ikan sepat itu saat menyortir ikan yang saya baru beli di kolam pembesaran dekat rumah. Setelah saya sortir, saya temukan salah satu ikan jenis sepat yang unik. Pas dilihat, seperti gambar bertuliskan lafaz Allah," katanya, Senin (15/5/2017).
Firman menambahkan, dirinya tidak memiliki firasat apa pun sebelum menemukan ikan sepat tersebut. Hanya saja, ikan sepat bertuliskan lafaz Allah itu terlihat lebih lincah dibanding ikan lainnya yang beli dari tempat yang sama.
Baginya, keunikan ikan itu merupakan pengingat kepada sang Maha Pencipta untuk meningkatkan nilai-nilai ibadah. Selain itu, dapat memperbanyak amal serta bersyukur atas nikmat yang telah Allah SWT berikan.
"Kami akan memperlihatkan kepada mereka tanda-tanda kekuasaan Kami di segala penjuru bumi dan pada diri mereka sendiri, hingga jelas bahwa Alquran itu adalah benar. Tidakah cukup bahwa sesungguhnya tuhanmu menjadi saksi atas segala sesuatu?” (al Fushilat: 53)," tirunya.
Kini, Firman yang akrab dipanggil Abah Boim menempatkan ikan berusia sekira 4 bulan itu di sebuah akuarium di dalam rumahnya. Ia pun berniat untuk menjual ikan unik miliknya tersebut jika ada yang berminat untuk memeliharanya.
"Saya pelihara dulu sekarang kalau ada yang minat ya saya jual. Harga bagaimana cocoknya saja," katanya.
